Low EEO Agarose
What is Low EEO Agarose?
Low EEO Agarose, also known as agarose with low electroendosmosis, is a high-purity, molecular biology-grade agarose free from DNase, RNase, and protease.
This product is primarily used to prepare gels for nucleic acid analysis, such as DNA or RNA electrophoresis, typically using TAE or TBE as the electrophoresis buffer.

Agarose Specification
Our Low EEO Agarose is produced using environmentally friendly processes that exclude organic solvents, minimizing the risk of organic solvent residues affecting subsequent experiments. This product comes as a white powder and meets the following specifications:
Grade | EEO | Gel Strength (1% gel) | Gel Temperature (1.5% gel) | Melting Temperature (1.5% gel) | Moisture | Ash |
Molecular Biology | ≤0.13 | ≥1200 g/cm² | 36±1.5°C | 88±1.5°C | ≤10% | ≤0.5% |
Low EEO Agarose is designed to enhance and expedite nucleic acid band electrophoresis, reducing band diffusion and improving electrophoresis resolution. It also features high gel strength, low staining background, and stable quality.
Low EEO Agarose Application Areas
- DNA and RNA Electrophoresis:Ideal for preparing agarose gels used in the electrophoresis of nucleic acids, providing excellent resolution and clarity.
- Molecular Biology Research:Suitable for various applications in molecular biology, where high-purity agarose is essential.
- Nucleic Acid Separation:Efficiently separates nucleic acids of different sizes using electrophoresis buffers like TAE or TBE.
Agarose Gel Concentration and Electrophoresis Resolution
The concentration of agarose gel affects the resolution of DNA electrophoresis, as shown in the table below. For low-resolution needs, both TAE and TBE can be used. For high-resolution needs, lower concentration gels are preferred for large nucleic acids using TAE, while higher concentration gels are better for small nucleic acids using TBE.
Gel Concentration (w/v) | Ideal Separation Range | Ideal Electrophoresis Buffer |
0.8% | 800-22,000 bp | TAE |
1.0% | 500-10,000 bp | TAE/TBE |
1.2% | 400-7,000 bp | TAE/TBE |
1.5% | 250-5,000 bp | TAE/TBE |
2.0% | 150-3,000 bp | TBE |
